Thanks for stopping by and welcome! A Home in the Making is an online journal that chronicles the updating and decorating of our 1928 Portland bungalow.
Along the way we also share the inspirations behind our decisions, DIY renovations and DIY creations (decor and crafts). And, don't be surprised to see an amazing (and usually gluten-free) recipe pop up from time to time. Everything shared is focused on transforming our house into a home.
WHO
My name's Jenn and I'm a marketing professional by day, but have always loved interior design. I live in Portland, OR with my husband, and partner in crime, Chris. Although he's not an active voice on this blog, very few of these projects would be possible without his help, (sometimes incredibly strong) opinions and ideas.
HOW IT BEGAN
A Home in the Making began when I moved into Chris' house nearly three years ago. The house was a recent purchase and pretty run down. I was freaking out because it wasn't home to me. And I wanted to go home! Determined to transform this house into a home we love, we launched A Home in the Making (what can I say? I'm incredibly literal) to chronicle our adventures. You can see the progress of all rooms on our before and afters page.
